What is your role at Resene and what does that involve?

As a Project Services Representative at Resene, I provide expert advice and support to clients who are planning or undertaking painting projects. My clients include facility managers and body corporates that look after a range of commercial and residential properties. I also liaise with contractors on behalf of my clients, both to procure quotes for undertaking the work, and to provide technical assistance on site when the project kicks off.

Tell us about some of your favourite projects using Resene products.

I really enjoy working on projects with historical and cultural significance; my favourite would have to be the St Mary’s Old Convent Chapel in St Marys Bay (Auckland). Identifying the original colour and finish is an important job in preserving the heritage of a building like this, and is something I take pride in doing accurately.

What is your biggest design or product tip?

For a DIY interior refurb I have one tip, don’t underestimate the importance of a quality roller sleeve! Too often have I seen people put in all the right prep work and buy a high quality paint, only to put it on with a cheap brush and roller. Good tools make your job far easier, more enjoyable, and are crucial to a good finish.

What are your favourite Resene colours?

My personal favourite would have to be Resene Indian Ink. It’s deep and rich with a subtle vibrancy that looks fantastic as a feature wall. And as far as off-whites go, you absolutely cannot go wrong with Resene Rice Cake.
