Resenetestpots in your chosen colours. Fleur used Resene Double Parchment, Resene Rice Cake, Resene Stack, Resene Cumin, Resene Black and Resene Bunting
Tip:Use treated wood for this project if you’re planning to hang it outside.
Step 1: Start by using a pencil to draw your sea gull shape on to a wide piece of treated pine wood. Use a jig saw or band saw to cut this out. Sand any rough edges smooth. Cut a length of fence paling to 50cm long and sand the cut edges smooth. Prime both the sea gulls and the board with one coat of Resene Quick Dry.
Step 2:Paint the seagulls with your chosen Resene colours. Fleur used Resene Double Parchment for the bodies with highlights in Resene Rice Cake. She then used Resene Stack for the wings, Resene Black for shading, Resene Cumin for the beak and legs, Resene Black and Resene Rice Cake for the eyes and Resene Bunting for the board.
Step 3: Attach the seagulls to the board by screwing a couple of screws in through from the back of the board. Measure the placement for the hooks, drill pilot holes and attach the hooks with screws. Attach the board to a wall with a couple of galvanised screws and hang up your favourite gardening tools, keys or items of choice. This project alsolook super cute hung next to a pool with towels and goggles too!
