The defining colours for June and July

10 Jul 2024

The Color Marketing Group (CMG) are back with their latest colour forecast for June and July. With such a passion for colour, they know just how these colour trends influence our homes, workspace and environment, and we’ve got the designs to show you how you can use these hues in your home with Resene paints and wallpapers.

June 2024: Energy, power and fertility

Terra Fértil, a medium chroma pinkish red, symbolises sustainability, empowerment and energy. Inspired by the earth, this hue, meaning ‘fertile earth’ in Portuguese, emerged from Latin American workshops in 2022 and is set to gain prominence in 2024. With connections to our planet, it draws from rich ores and Earth’s striations, offering a new type of earthy colour. Terra Fértil is versatile, embodying determination, hope and empowerment while being relaxed and casual. Ideal for home décor and wellness spaces, it pairs well with blue, grey and tan, making it a modern, inclusive and effortless colour choice.

Here are two ideas using this colour trend with Resene Wallpaper Collection M354 and Resene Valentine that you can try in your home:

Try a geometric design like Resene Wallpaper Collection M354 which pairs shades like Terra Fértil with darker hues of red and luxurious golds. The blue furniture also creates a stunning contrast against these warmer hues.
