You can do it! Try this inspiring DIY

Sometimes we just need some inspiring words to motivate us. With this DIY, you can create your own artwork to put on your wall that is both colourful and encouraging. Head to your local Resene ColorShop to pick out your favourite colours and get creating!

You will need:

• Tin cans
• Resene ArmourX GP Metal Primer
• Paintbrush
• Printed quote
• Scissors
• Pencil
• Nail and hammer or electric drill
• Adhesive glue
• Resene testpots in your favourite shades. Fleur used Resene Teal Blue, Resene Green Acres and Resene Sunglo

Step 1: Remove the paper labels from the tin cans and prime them with a coat of Resene ArmourX GP Metal Primer. 

Step 2: Once the sealer is dry, paint the tins with two coats of your chosen Resene paint colour. Fleur used Resene Teal Blue.

Step 3: Use a computer and printer to print out your quote on to paper. Use scissors to cut out the letters and trace around each one on to a tin with a pencil. Carefully paint in each letter. Fleur used Resene Green Acres for half of the words and Resene Sunglo for the other half.

Step 4: Use a nail and hammer or an electric drill to make a hole in the top middle tin for hanging on the wall. Use strong adhesive glue to glue all the tins together.
